This one is a little delayed. I’ve been doing a lot of programming the past few days, and as a result have avoided being on the computer after work, so as not to recount terrible memories of javascript.
Anyways, these were taken on Sunday after church, walking around downtown running errands. Going back downtown tomorrow, [...]
Tonight’s subject was trains. Trains going by, ambulances crossing train tracks, and people on the trains.
Admittedly, there is an inherent risk photographing people on trains. I’m pretty sneaky, but you can’t exactly run away if someone gets agitated with you.
Looks like I’ll live to fight another day though.
I did some street photography downtown today after getting lunch with Scott Strazzante. He gave me some good pointers and let me in on his method (which helped assuage my fear that I was supposed to walk up to people and snap a picture in their face). Let’s just say I didn’t [...]
Occupy Chicago protesters took a stand on Saturday night, setting up tents in Congress Plaza (inside of Grant Park). I got called about 9:30pm to head down there, and arrived to see a group of protesters surrounded on all sides by police. The police were planning on enforcing a municipal ordinance that no one is [...]
I was hit with the abrupt reality today that I need to be able to connect to the internet 24/7. I had it easy in Tallahassee, with free wifi on campus and a car to get me to my house if all else failed. As a Chicago photojournalist I need to be a little more [...]
I’ve got new portfolios up on the site, reflecting more of my recent work. Go Check them out and tell me what you think.
I’ve got a couple meetings lined up for later this week and early next week, hopefully I can get the ball rolling with some freelance work. Off to Navy [...]
Had an interesting night documenting the debate between the FSU College Republicans and FAMU’s mock trial team. Topics covered all things political, ranging from Obama, to healthcare, to immigration, and they even covered some affirmative action and the Patriot Act, to name a few. All of the debaters were vey respectful, although the crowd was [...]
Taking a break from studying for finals (read: postponing starting my studying) to catch up on the past week.
Last week was quite busy. Put in about a month’s worth of work in a week. I think I had 3 back to back 18+ hour days. Drove approx. 500 miles. Did a lot of [...]
Had a quick portrait session with (soon to be) former City Commissioner Debbie Lightsey. She’s retiring after 21 years on the Commission and is being replaced by Nancy Miller. Went out to her home on Lake Hiawatha and was able to get a shot of her on her boardwalk overlooking the lake. She and her [...]
Lot on my plate lately. Lot on my mind too.
Here’s a piece I did a few weeks ago. By chance you might have seen it via facebook or twitter already, but here’s a nice place for it to live nonetheless.
FSU’s Pride Student Union held an event to raise awareness about the recent [...]
